Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring new faces to Celtic before the transfer window closes.

Celtic fans have been speculating whether or not Rodgers is looking to bring in a ready-made replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi.

As it stands, Rodgers has Adam Idah, Johnny Kenny and Callum Osmand as the recognised Celtic first-team strikers at the moment.

And whilst Kenny has impressed the Hoops support in pre-season, many would agree that having just him, Idah and Osmand to take the team into the new Scottish Premiership season and the Champions League is clearly not good enough.

Brendan Rodgers appears to agree.

Brendan Rodgers is ‘very clear’ where Celtic need to strengthen in the transfer window

Celtic fans have long wondered if Rodgers will splash the cash on another striker or if he will settle for what he already has going into the new season.

Well they no longer need to worry, because the Celtic boss has sent a clear message on where he is looking to strengthen this summer and it will excite the supporters.

Rodgers told The Herald, “We still have some work to do. I think the players that we have in the building have been very, very good in this pre-season so far.

“But like I say, we still have work to do in the market. I think it’s very clear where our gaps are – in our front line, where we need support.

“I’m very confident that we’ll be able to do that before the market finishes.”

The last striker linked to Celtic

The last striker linked to Celtic was CFR Cluj youngster Louis Munteanu. The Romanian has been at the centre of numerous headlines over the last few weeks.

However, developments suggest that Celtic’s interest was pure speculation as Cluj president Neluțu Varga confirmed that a mystery French club is the only one to contact him about Munteanu.

The reality is that whilst there is plenty of rumour and speculation, no one really knows what is going on in regards to Celtic and transfers until deals are officially announced.

With the Parkhead club and Rodgers keeping their cards firmly close to their chests, Celtic fans will just need to remain patient as the powers that be do their work behind the scenes.
