Celtic’s pursuit of Jakob Breum has taken a new twist as details emerge of three bids Go Ahead Eagles have rejected for the Danish forward.

Breum has caught Celtic’s eye and the Parkhead club had a bid rejected last week as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his forward line.

The Celtic manager admitted that he has prioritised his attacking options this summer and the Hoops boss sees Breum as someone who can do just that.

And it appears that Celtic have now had a further two bids rejected by Go Ahead Eagles as Rodgers finds out how much the Dutch club are now wanting for their talented young winger.

Go Ahead Eagles’ Jakob Breum ‘price tag’ as three Celtic bids are rejected

Breum has been capped six times for the Denmark U21 side and appears to be on the cusp of a senior call up.

And after the young Dane’s impressive season in the Eredivisie last season, it appears that Celtic are keen to get their man.

The Celtic Way shares how the Parkhead club have had three bids of £1.5m, £1.75m and £3m for Breum knocked back as Go Ahead Eagles stand firm on price.

The report says ‘senior figures’ at the Dutch club believe that their valuation of Breum is ‘fair and realistic’ and that Go Ahead will not be allowed to leave for Celtic for a ‘knockdown fee’.

What Danish expert told 67 Hail Hail about Celtic target Breum

It appears that Breum is very highly rated in his homeland and upon hearing of Celtic’s interest in the winger, 67 Hail Hail contacted Danish football expert Toke Theilade for a rundown on the 21-year-old.

Theilade told us, “It’s incredible what he’s done in Holland. He never really broke through at Odense, so they skipped him on to Go Ahead Eagles.

“The way he broke through for GAE has been remarkable, but really wasn’t expected. I thought he would fade out, but he really proved me wrong. Now he’s being linked with some big clubs.

“He’s a fast player with a high technical level. He can create chances for his teammates but also for himself and his finishing is at a good level.

“He is creative, agile and very fun to watch. His passing is at a high level, and you can play him both centrally and as a winger.

“I think the way he sets up his teammates with his passing is what sets him apart.”
