Celtic are continually being linked to players as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen the squad.

Rodgers told Celtic fans he recognises that the Hoops forward line needs back-up for the coming season and it seems that he is determined to do just that.

Celtic target Jakob Breum appears to be next on Rodgers’ list of players after the Parkhead club had a £1.5m bid rejected this week.

And today, friend of 67 Hail Hail Toke Theilade and editor of Brondby fan media site, Vilfort Park has given us the lowdown on what type of player Breum is and how he would fit into Celtic’s first-team squad.

Celtic are looking to buy ‘talented guy’ Jakob Breum

Theilade gave this site the rundown on Benjamin Nygren when Celtic first showed interest in the Swedish winger.

The Danish football expert also told us all about Mathias Kvistgaarden as Celtic looked to sign him from Brondby.

And here, Theilade couldn’t speak highly enough of Breum who is currently making waves in the Eredivisie with Go Ahead Eagles.

Theilade exclusively told 67 Hail Hail, “It’s incredible what he’s done in Holland. He never really broke through at Odense, so they skipped him on to Go Ahead Eagles.

“He wasn’t considered a profile or anything like that when he left, although he had played on some youth national teams.

“He got his debut at a young age though, so he was a talented guy but just never put it together. OB was a bit of a mess too when he was there though, so not the easiest play to perform.”

Celtic target Jakob Breum proved Danish expert ‘wrong’

Not only does Theilade wax lyrical about Breum, the Danish football expert also admits that what he’s doing in the Eredivisie has really proved him wrong about the young winger.

Theilade continued, “The way he broke through for GAE has been remarkable, but really wasn’t expected. I thought he would fade out, but he really proved me wrong. Now he’s being linked with some big clubs.

“He’s a fast player with a high technical level. He can create chances for his teammates but also for himself and his finishing is at a good level.

“He is creative, agile and very fun to watch. His passing is at a high level, and you can play him both centrally and as a winger.

“I think the way he sets up his teammates with his passing is what sets him apart.”

Go Ahead value Breum at around £5m and it seems Celtic have tried to get him on the cheap after a £1.5m bid was thrown out this week.

If the young Denmark U21 international is as good as Theilade says, Celtic must break open the chequebook and get him in as soon as possible.
