Celtic’s pursuit of Michel-Ange Balikwisha appears to be coming to an end.
The Belgian winger has long been linked to Celtic and as Brendan Rodgers looks for reinforcements for his front line, it looks like Balikwisha could be the Hoops boss’ eighth summer signing.
Celtic sent delegates to Belgium this weekend to tie up a deal for Balikwisha and it seems to have worked.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has delivered an update on the Balikwisha transfer ‘saga’ and it will delight the Celtic supporters.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha ‘has decided to sign for Celtic’
The long-running transfer pursuit of Balikwisha appears to be coming to an end this weekend after Sacha Tavolieri dropped a late-night update on social media.
Tavolieri said on X, “BREAKING – Michel Ange Balikwisha has decided to sign for Celtic FC!
“After a last meeting with the Scottish officials, the winger has been convinced by the project.
“An agreement in principle on personal terms has also been found.
“Deal expected to be completed in the next days.
“Long saga, almost over.”
Watch Brendan Rodgers get spiky about Michel-Ange Balikwisha ‘deal’
After watching Celtic beat Livingston at Parkhead yesterday, Brendan Rodgers was asked post-match for an update on Balikwisha.
The Celtic manager seemed nonplussed with the question and delivered a spiky response.
Rodgers told Celtic TV, “I think the delegation was at the game, were they not?
“I don’t know who else would talk contract talks. So listen, there are a number of players we’ve after for a number of months.
“So we will see over the next 48 hours what that looks like.”
So, whilst the update from Tavolieri will be welcomed by the Celtic support, it appears Rodgers wasn’t convinced that anyone was speaking to the player.
The next 48 hours will be very interesting indeed.
