Luke McCowan continues to crop up in conversations involving Celtic as the Bhoys look to add midfield depth before the window closes.
The Dundee captain has continued his impressive form from last term into this season, scoring three times and laying on six assists in seven appearances.
Potentially available at a modest fee of £1 million, McCowan is into the final year of his contract at Dens Park. He could represent a bargain homegrown pick-up to contribute and help with squad quota regulations in Europe.
Hibernian have seen three offers turned down for the 26-year-old this summer. Reports last week claimed Dundee expect Celtic to test their resolve before the deadline next Friday.
Coincidentally, the Dark Blues face Hibernian this weekend at Easter Road and boss Tony Docherty has now addressed where his focus lies.
Luke McCowan’s focus as transfer speculation continues
Speaking to The Courier, Docherty has indicated that McCowan is only focused on Dundee at present despite the attention surrounding his captain.
He explained: “It doesn’t affect my thinking. And I’ve spoken to Luke like I do on a daily basis and he’s fully focused.
“He is a Dundee player, he’s fully committed to Dundee and you can see that in the performances he’s been putting in. He’s fully committed to putting that in again on Saturday.”

Later, he confirmed there have been no new proposals for McCowan, adding: “Luke and the boys have had a couple of brilliant training sessions the last couple of days.
“The boys are in a really good place and Luke typifies that by driving standards. That’s why he’s such an integral part to all we’re doing at the moment. So, no news on him; we’re just preparing for what will be a tough game at Easter Road on Saturday.”
Celtic look to add two central midfielders before deadline
With Matt O’Riley said to be nearing a move to Brighton, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his side will look for two midfielders before the deadline to strengthen his engine room.
Yesterday, The Celtic Way reported McCowan remains on the Bhoys’ radar as Celtic probe in the market before the deadline.
Augsburg’s Arne Engels and Lausanne-Sport talent Alvyn Sanches have also been mentioned as a busy end to the market period starts to take shape.
Feasibly, there could be room for one of the pair to come in alongside McCowan, helping to bolster the squad for their endeavours domestically and on the continent. Time will tell on that front, but hopefully, there will be some exciting news to share before too long.
