Celtic are expected to reinforce the forward line this summer.

One name that has popped up on Celtic’s transfer radar has been winger Camilo Durán of Qarabağ FK.

Celtic have had an abject record with signing attacking players in recent times, as Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Joel Mvuka have proven.

So, hopefully, if Durán is the new name to land in Glasgow, he can change the club’s fortunes around, as 67 Hail Hail has taken a look at who and what type of player Martin O’Neill might acquire.

Should Celtic fans be worried about O’Neill’s transfer comments?

Camilo Durán’s career path

Born in Santa Marta, Colombia, Durán did put on the colours of Flamengo as a teenager, without making an appearance for the Brazilian giants.

Lusitânia, Estrela da Amadora, and Portimonense were the clubs Durán would represent before moving to Azerbaijan last summer and signing for Qarabağ FK.

Standing at 5ft 10 in tall, he is a left-footed forward who mainly played down the middle last term, but can operate on the flanks.

The same number of Champions League goals as Vinícius Júnior

One of the most exciting things about Durán and these Celtic links was his performances in the Champions League last season.

That’s where he showcased real promise, including how he introduced himself to the Qarabağ supporters on the biggest stage of club football.

On his Champions League debut, he scored and assisted during his side’s comeback win over Benfica, and it would be a sign of things to come.

Qarabağ, just like Celtic did with Bayern Munich two seasons ago, reached the play-off stages, before they were ripped apart by Newcastle United over two legs.

But Durán still ended his Champions League campaign with five goals and one assist to his name.

The same number of goals as Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior and Arsenal’s Victor Gyökeres, who was a beaten finalist with Arsenal.
