Adam Idah is doing his talking on the field of play.

In his own words, it has been a ‘crazy week’ for Idah after he left Celtic to join Swansea City, and now he is scoring another crucial goal for the Republic of Ireland.

After the opening month of the new domestic season, which included Idah representing the Hoops, he was quickly transported to Wales to secure a deadline transfer to the English Championship side.

Celtic managed to bank £7 million for the 24-year-old’s talents, and he celebrated his new move by coming off the bench and securing a crucial point as the Republic of Ireland recorded a 2-2 draw against Hungary in a World Cup qualifier.

And Celtic got a mention in Idah’s post-match interview…

Adam Idah on leaving Celtic after ‘crazy week’ and Republic of Ireland goal

It’s interesting that Idah had ‘no thoughts’ of leaving Celtic, that isn’t a surprise to be honest, because there has been no sense to what the board have been doing.

But the Scottish Cup final hero explained that Swansea is a ‘good project’ for him, and it’s also a chance for him to ‘restart.’

Idah explained that, whilst he wasn’t thinking of leaving the champions of Scotland, it was ‘probably time for me to move on’, as he told BBC Sport.

“The manager told me when I came on to get in the box as there would be a lot of crosses coming in, so I had to try to get on one,” shared Idah.

“When the ball fell to Ryan Manning, I knew what type of crosser he is, and the ball fell perfectly for me. It was just about staying focused on the ball and getting my head to it.

“It was a crazy week. I had no thoughts of leaving Celtic, but Swansea came in. It was a good project for me to go down to the Championship and restart.

“I loved my time at Celtic. I had some amazing memories, but it was probably time for me to move on and have a fresh start.”

Idah’s replacement at Celtic speaks volumes

With Idah out of the door, Celtic signed Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer to the frustration and annoyance of the fans.

Even before Idah left, an out-and-out striker was needed because Kyogo Furuhashi hadn’t been replaced after he left in January.

But this is how Celtic go about their transfer business, and that’s why they are getting so much verbal pelters from the paying supporters.

Good luck to whatever Idah does because, let’s be honest, it would have been better if he stayed than if Iheanacho had signed.
