After the perfect start to his Celtic career, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has the chance to match Scott Sinclair’s 10-year record.

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored on his debut against Livingston to keep their Scottish Premiership title hopes alive.

With Arne Engels out injured for the trip to Kilmarnock this weekend, there is a spot up for grabs in the midfield.

Starting Oxlade-Chamberlain may not be the best idea at Rugby Park as he continues to build up his match fitness, but if he were to come off the bench and score again, the 32-year-old could join an illustrious list.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could score in back-to-back games

Scoring in back-to-back league fixtures would be the icing on the cake to the perfect start at Celtic Park.

No Celtic player has managed to do this since Moritz Jenz in 2022, when he scored in August 2022, bagging against Ross County and Kilmarnock of all sides.

The last British player to score in back-to-back fixtures though was Sinclair in 2016.

There are similarities between the two as well as Sinclair scored on his debut in added time against Hearts, but it will take a few more games to eclipse his other record.

The number of games it would take Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to beat Scott Sinclair’s record

Sinclair didn’t stop at scoring in his first two games for Celtic, which led to him breaking a 94-year record.

He actually went on to score in five consecutive league games for the Bhoys.

If Oxlade-Chamberlain was to do that, the former Arsenal midfielder would need to score against Kilmarnock, Hibernian, Rangers, Aberdeen and Motherwell to break it.

Do you think he can do it?
