Amid the talk of Kyogo Furuhashi leaving Celtic, there is also the prospect of Kieran Tierney returning to where it all started.
As of this moment, Tierney is still donning Arsenal colours and Mikel Arteta made an interesting call with the Celtic hero on Saturday.
Arsenal recorded a 1-0 win against Wolves, but the three points came with it’s drama, including left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly getting a straight red card just before half-time.
Arteta had the option to bring on Tierney, but instead, he opted for summer signing, Riccardo Calafiori.
The Italy international would go on to score the winning goal in the second half after Wolves’ Joao Gomes was shown a second yellow card.
Amid talk of Celtic wanting to re-sign Tierney – he would come on in the 87th minute, and once again, he was a huge talking point.
Arsenal fans make feelings clear on Kieran Tierney as Celtic push for return
Tierney has been fit and available for Arsenal since December, but Arteta has only handed him one start, and on many occasions, he isn’t even coming off the bench.
But, every time he is on the pitch, the Arsenal fans are purring about their player, even if it’s for a small period of time, like he did against Wolves.
Celtic fans want Tierney to return, but it seems as though some sections of the Arsenal fanbase on social media want him to stay beyond the winter.

‘The more I see Tierney play, the more I don’t want him leaving,’ wrote one Arsenal fan.
Arsenal fans are pretty clear on Tierney and another fan added: ‘The club really need to keep Tierney to at least the end of the season! We have way too many injuries and he can help even if it is for 20-30mins per game.’
What could be Arsenal’s loss will be Celtic’s gain, as Tierney is a ‘dying breed’, as another fan concluded: ‘Kieran Tierney you’ll always have a fan in me. Old fashion overlapping LB with a ridiculous whip on him, none of that woke inverted stuff. Last of a dying breed’.
Another Arsenal fan added: ‘Tierney is one of the best crosses of the ball at our club. I’m sorry I want him to stay’.
Will Arsenal fans get their wish of Tierney staying? ‘We should keep Tierney until summer at least. He’s been looking so good after coming back and his crosses can win us games,’ demanded another supporter.
Kieran Tierney’s game time for Arsenal this season
Lewis-Skelly has become a regular starter for Arsenal at left-back and performed well, so it should make it easier for the London club to allow Tierney to go.
Even when the youngster was sent off, the Scotland star initially remained on the bench, so it’s another sign that he should head for the exit door.
Tierney’s limited game time this season is the main indicator that returning to Celtic is the best option for the all-action left-back.
