Brendan Rodgers made a big call and handed Adam Idah his first start in Celtic colours on Wednesday night against Hibernian and he repaid his manager with two crucial goals.
Both were highly-pressured penalties, including a 90th-minute winner, to send Celtic three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Callum McGregor was marshalling the troops from the middle of the park and he was impressed by the impact Adam Idah made.
The Celtic skipper told Sky Sports that the 22-year-old scored two ‘unbelievable penalties under so much pressure’ and he has now already shown that he is ‘a man for the big occasion’.
Let’s be honest, when Adam Idah moved to Parkhead on a loan deal from Norwich City until the end of the season, it didn’t exactly lift fans from their seats.
Not because of the player himself, just because the whole January transfer window was a huge letdown.
But from it all, a little gem might have emerged as the first few signs Adam Idah is showing are very, very positive.
Adam Idah’s penalties for Celtic against Hibernian
“The big man’s quality, two unbelievable penalties and under so much pressure,” said McGregor.
“He has just come to the club, but he has already shown that he is a man for the big occasion.”

Adam Idah keeps his place
It’s as simple as that. Keep him in the XI, give him a run of starts and let’s see what he is made of because Celtic need this.
Kyogo Furuhashi will forever be a hero to the Celtic faithful, and whilst he has stepped up in the very big moments, the consistency levels just haven’t been there this season.
With Idah scoring these two goals, it just starts to create some much-needed competition and provide the manager with some serious depth in quality on the bench.
Plus, from Idah’s perspective, he isn’t anywhere near his best yet. It’s probably still going to take him a few weeks to get some serious sharpness into his game and used to his new teammates.
