Celtic are demanding answers from the SPFL about their Pitch Inspection Protocol after the late postponement of the Aberdeen fixture at Pittodrie.
Aberdeen announced a pitch inspection late yesterday afternoon, hours after Celtic supporters had begun their journey to the north of Scotland.
Celtic hero Chris Sutton announced the game had been postponed on X at around 4:15pm, by which times many hundreds of Celtic fans would have either been in Aberdeen, or at least halfway there.

Celtic slam the SPFL in an apology to fans
We told yesterday how Celtic fans would have been fuming once they heard that Aberdeen requested a pitch inspection at 1:15pm.
In a scathing statement, Celtic have questioned the SPFL’s ability to act more decisively to call off games for fans earlier to avoid wasted journeys.
The statement on Celtic’s official website said, “It is extremely regrettable that last night’s match against Aberdeen was postponed, particularly at such a late stage.
“While we understand the decision, clearly, we sympathise with our supporters, many of whom had begun making their journeys or had arrived in Aberdeen already.
“We have raised the matter with the SPFL, to understand whether the SPFL Pitch Inspection Protocol was followed correctly.
“In our view, there must be the ability to make earlier decisions on matches.
“We are very sorry that our fans have been inconvenienced in this way and thank you sincerely for your support.”
Whether the SPFL will give the fans and Celtic the answers they are looking for will become apparent over the next few days.
