Celtic’s fixtures for the upcoming Scottish Premiership season have certainly caused a bit of reaction online.

Not only has Celtic hero Chris Sutton fired the first shots to Kris Boyd, the Parkhead support have reacted furiously to what they have spotted in the SPFL’s fixture list.

Flag Day is an important event in the Celtic supporters‘ calendar as it gives them the chance to celebrate the unfurling of the Scottish Premiership title flag.

As usual, it will be at Celtic Park but not at the time or day the Hoops support want.

Flag Day kick off time at Celtic Park has left fans furious

Celtic fans love nothing more than a 3pm kick-off time on a Saturday afternoon and that is what the unfurling of the title flag should be all about.

However, as Sky Sports now seem to dictate when fixtures are played, Celtic supporters have sent the SPFL a furious message at the scheduling of the first two fixtures of the new 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season.

@markmcilhone was sarcastic and fuming and replied, “Flag day last game of the weekend half 4? You couldn’t make it up.”

@MaireNiM1 echoed that sentiment and raged, “4.30pm on a Sunday? Terrible timing especially for travelling fans. All about the revenue.”

@alandonohoe1888 felt sick at the scheduling and replied, “First game of the season 4pm on a Sunday.” which was followed up by a sick emoji.

There was some light at the end of the tunnel as @HPaulODonnell spotted one bit of good news for Celtic supporters, “Only 4 games on plastic pitches before the split. Could have been worse.”

So the broadcasters have form for this at Celtic Park and many fans now believe that the club need to take a stance against it.
