Celtic’s 2025/26 pre-season preparations continue as the Bhoys head over to the Emerald Isle to face Cork City.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Kieran Tierney won’t be involved, as well as the fellow internationals who returned to Lennoxtown over the weekend won’t be included in the squad as they get back up to speed following their extended break.

It means that a mix of first team regulars and youth stars led by Callum McGregor will take to the pitch in a historic game as the Hoops and Cork play the first ever men’s football game at the GAA stadium, SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Callum Osmand to make Celtic debut against Cork City

Rodgers named two different XI’s for each half against Queen’s Park last weekend and there’s a chance that some players could get more than 45 minutes.

Johnny Kenny scored the only goal against Queen’s Park but could drop to the bench and feature later on, allowing new striker Callum Osmand to get his first run out in a Celtic top.

Joining from Fulham, Rodgers hinted that Osmand will be in the first team and fans will be excited to see a forward with a prolific goal scoring record at youth level.

Celtic predicted XI to face Cork City

Ross Doohan will start in goal once again while the back four will comprise of Celtic B duo Colby Donovan and Mitchel Frame in the right and left-back slots.

Dane Murray will drop out of the side and allow Auston Trusty to move to the right-hand side of centre-back, allowing new signing Hayato Inamura to play and introduce himself to fans.

Callum McGregor and Luke McCowan will start in the middle and play alongside Kyle Ure, who impressed in the second half of the game at Queen’s Park.

To complete the side, two changes will be made in the front line as Osmand and Francis Turley come in for Adam Montgomery and Kenny respectively, leaving Jude Bonnar as the only starter from last time.
