Celtic transfer target Lennon Miller finally made his long-awaited senior debut for Scotland.

Miller has been linked with Celtic for many months and the 18-year-old was finally given his first taste of international football by being handed a start against Liechtenstein.

He managed to grab an assist by playing through a great ball for Che Adams’ second of the night as Steve Clarke’s men recorded a comfortable 4-0 win.

With Motherwell preparing for a bidding war as clubs in Europe also eye up Miller, Scott Brown’s latest verdict on the young midfielder is only going to grab the attentions of others.

Scott Brown waxes lyrical about Lennon Miller

Brown was on punditry duty for BBC Sportscene’s coverage of the game and admitted he was mightily impressed by Miller.

The Celtic legend knows what it takes to play for the Hoops and his assessment of Miller saw a talent that isn’t fazed by anything.

He said: “His variation of passing is exceptional, he’s played at the top level for two years now and you can see the maturity in his game and the understanding as well, whether it’s playing in a two or a three [in midfield].

“To come in and show belief in himself, it shows you nothing really fazes him and that’s the best thing about football, especially being a young kid, go out and, as the manager said, do what you do at Motherwell.”

Lennon Miller’s stats vs Liechtenstein

Miller was the standout player for the Tartan Army’s win by some distance.

Only Callum McGregor made more recoveries than Miller in the Scottish Premiership this season and against a weaker side in Liechtenstein, he was able to display his attacking qualities.

Even if he doesn’t end up at Parkhead this summer, one thing for certain is that Scotland are in good hands in the future.
