You could hear and feel it in the Edinburgh air on Wednesday night as Celtic secured a late victory over Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.

Minutes were left on the clock when Celtic fans were fearing the worst and more dropped points from the team, this time at a place that has never faired well for Brendan Rodgers.

But that seemingly underwhelming January transfer window offered some light because Adam Idah showed nerves of steel to score two penalties, including one in the 90th minute to win the game for the Bhoys.

Gabby Agbonlahor just couldn’t believe ‘how loud’ the Celtic away fans were when that winner went in and how he ‘felt the adrenaline from Idah’, as he told talkSPORT (08/02/24 at 6:10 am).

The former Aston Villa striker added the ‘them Celtic fans make some noise’ as you can imagine part of it was also relief.

Yes, many of the supporters know that the performances just aren’t up to scratch yet, but the team is sticking through it and moving forward.

There is a title race on, that’s for sure, but the Celtic fans will be fighting every way for the team and across that finishing line.

“I was flicking through social media after the Villa game and saw the penalty and once he scored it, how loud it was,” said Agbonlahor.

“Them Celtic fans, some atmosphere after he scored that – them Celtic fans make some noise though. I felt the adrenaline from Idah when he scored that goal in front of the away end.”

Brendan Rodgers needs consistency

From the manager’s perspective, he can’t do anything with the hand he was dealt in the summer transfer market and during the January transfer window.

But he does need some luck when it comes to injuries because it is forcing him to change his XI time and time again.

Stephen Welsh and Alistair Johnston were the latest pair to go off early at Easter Road, whilst the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate can’t stay out of the treatment room this season.

The quicker Rodgers can get them all together again, including the likes of Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada getting up to speed, then everyone will see the true worth of this side.
