The first game of the 2025/26 season for Celtic is nigh.
The Hoops returned to Lennoxtown last Friday as pre-season training got underway. Now, full focus will be on the friendly against Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park.
It’s a repeat of the summer 2024 friendly between the two sides, and hopefully we are treated to the same level of entertainment.
Celtic won that astonishing game 6-4, with Kyogo Furuhashi scoring a hat-trick and Matt O’Riley also netting before his record £26m switch to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Celtic travel the short distance to The City Stadium on Friday, July 4 where they will play Queen’s Park in a friendly match. Kick-off in Mount Florida is at 19:45 BST.
Is Queen’s Park vs Celtic live on TV?
Queen’s Park vs Celtic will not be broadcast live on Sky Sports or Premier Sports. The only way you can watch it is by signing up to Celtic TV, if you haven’t already.
Both UK & Ireland and international subscribers will be able to watch the friendly live. Coverage on Celtic TV starts at 18:45 BST, which is one hour before kick-off.

Brendan Rodgers‘ main priority for this clash will be to get as many minutes into as many players’ legs as possible. At this stage, it’s all about maximising fitness levels.
Not all Celtic players have returned for pre-season training. That includes the likes of Kieran Tierney, Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Reo Hatate and more.
So don’t expect to see these guys in action just yet.

The officials for Queen’s Park vs Celtic have been confirmed by the SFA. The on-field referee will be Iain Sneddon and he will be assisted by Alastair Taylor and Michael MacDermid.
