St Johnstone and Aberdeen stand in Brendan Rodgers’ way of securing another Treble at Celtic.
It’s crazy to think how much Celtic dominate that Rodgers ends up competing, pushing and winning Trebles for fun during his two spells as manager.
On Sunday, if Celtic see past St Johnstone at Hampden, then Jimmy Thelin’s Aberdeen are the only ones stopping them from creating more history.
The Dons left it late, and also needed extra time, but they beat nine-man Hearts 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, after Palestine striker, Oday Dabbagh, came off the bench to net the winner with two minutes left on the clock.
After the game, Celtic were brought up in Thelin’s press conference and what’s possibly facing him around the corner.

Jimmy Thelin will have his eyes on Celtic vs St Johnstone after Aberdeen reach the Scottish Cup final
Despite Celtic losing to St Johnstone last time out in the Premiership, everyone saw how they mauled Kilmarnock last week, and how normal service is expected to resume at Hampden.
The game kicks off at 3 pm UK time, with Celtic huge favourites to win, including hoping that extra-time or even penalties aren’t needed to book that final ticket.
One thing is for sure: Thelin will tune in to see what happens, as he shared in his post-match press conference.
“I think so, I will probably do that,” said Thelin on whether he will watch Celtic’s semi-final clash vs St Johnstone. “Yeah, I will do that, for sure.”
Thelin on previously losing to Celtic at Hampden
Rewind back to the start of the campaign, and new Aberdeen boss Thelin had made a blistering start to the campaign.
There was even talk of Aberdeen pushing for the title, then, in and around the winter period, things went from bad to worse for the Pittodrie-based club.
That included Celtic putting six past Aberdeen in the League Cup semi-final in December. Thelin was asked about that match, but he played down how much damage it did to his players.
“That game was totally different, and we got really exposed in the first half,” said Thelin. “Of course, we have learned something.
“It’s also another game and different opponents, so it’s difficult to say from that learning. The most important is actually the game last weekend (against Rangers), and don’t get stressed when we get one man extra. Try to believe it the whole way.
“We don’t need extra motivation. We know what it means. We will try our best and try to achieve something, but at least now we are in a good position. We are there. That’s the first, then we have to take the fight in the game on the 24th.”
