Julian Araujo might never play for Celtic again, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still showing his affection towards the club.

The on-loan Bournemouth star last played for Celtic against Rangers in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals at Ibrox, and he was watching intently for the final Glasgow derby of the season on Sunday.

Celtic beat Rangers again on Sunday, this time in the Premiership, to boost their title hopes, with Daizen Maeda scoring a stunning overhead kick to put the cherry on top of the cake.

Araujo reacted to the victory on his Instagram story, urging the Hoops that there are ‘two more to go’, with Motherwell and Hearts left during the remaining post-split fixtures.

Is Maeda’s overhead kick the best you’ve seen scored in a Glasgow Derby? If not, what was? 👀

Julian Araujo continues to show his love for Celtic despite his season-ending injury

If Celtic didn’t have depth in quality at right-back, with Alistair Johnston returning from injury, rising star Colby Donovan and squad player Anthony Ralston, then many would be calling for Araujo to be signed for next season.

The brutal reality for the Mexico international, who is still racing to get fit for this summer’s World Cup, is that he simply isn’t needed, even as Celtic prepare for a much-needed squad overhaul.

Nonetheless, Araujo wrote on IG ‘Let’s go. Two more to go @celticfc 🍀’

Even though Araujo hasn’t been able to take part in these chaotic and defining post-split fixtures, if the title is secured, then he will get a medal.

The same applies to Celtic’s Scottish Cup final showdown against Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline Athletic on May 23.

Either way, he is deserving of it because one of the most memorable moments of the season was Celtic’s stunning comeback win at Kilmarnock, where he netted the stoppage-time winner.
