That was rather entertaining from Celtic, but perhaps for the wrong reasons.
On Tuesday night, Celtic recorded a 3-3 draw at Dundee to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership table to 16 points.
It was a frustrating game from Brendan Rodgers’ side, on both ends of the pitch, because the manager would have been annoyed at what he was seeing.
Yes, the defence couldn’t deal with the pressure and energy Dundee were playing with, especially given that Celtic took the lead twice.
Luke McCowan opened the scoring after just five minutes, but the home side hit back before the break, as the champions took the lead again, but then required an Arne Engels stoppage-time penalty to rescue a point.
Yes, Celtic scored three goals, but there is a sense of frustration as to what the forward players produced.
Neil Lennon says Adam Idah ‘has to do better’ for Celtic after 3-3 draw at Dundee
Adam Idah was handed another start by Rodgers, but once again, he failed to get on the scoresheet and that’s no goal since November in the Premiership.
Whether the Irishman is playing up top on his own, or alongside Kyogo Furuhashi, he isn’t cutting it and Neil Lennon made it clear that ‘he has to do better’.
The Celtic legend stated that captain Callum McGregor should be having a word with Idah and telling him that ‘we need more out of you’, as he told Sky Sports Football (14/01/25 at 9:00 pm).
“Where is he fitting? He has to do better,” stated Lennon. “It’s as simple as that. He should have scored in the first half.
“He makes some runs, keeps going, instead of changing his runs, at times. He has to hold the ball up a little bit better and he has to get on the end of crosses. There is one that came far post and he sort of, more or less, ducked out of it, when he should really go and attack it.
“He has good attributes, but he needs to do a lot more. If I am the captain in there or Callum, I would be going ‘come on. We need more out of you’. It’s about time he played the width of the box, instead of making all these runs in the channels, especially when Celtic are in the final third. He has to stay central and link the play up a little better as well.”

Idah’s stats for Celtic against Dundee
Idah played just over an hour before he was replaced, but you sense he won’t be starting many more games given his form.
Johnny Kenny made his Celtic debut over the weekend and fans will be calling for the young gun to start given Idah’s struggles on the pitch.
And, as WhoScored rated his performance against Dundee at 6.10, it’s a game that he won’t want to look back on.
