Celtic began their pre-season with a modest 1-0 win against Queen’s Park.

Johnny Kenny’s first half strike was the only goal of the game as Celtic won by just a single goal.

Brendan Rodgers had 15 youngsters in the squad and changed the entire XI at half-time in a game that got vital minutes under the belt.

There is still plenty to work on for the Hoops but even though it was only a friendly victory, Celtic fans were still quick to land a couple of jabs into Rangers after the win.

Celtic fans take jab at Rangers after Queen’s Park friendly win

We can all remember the Scottish Cup game from last season that saw Rangers beaten by Queen’s Park at Ibrox thanks to a 1-0 win, can’t we?

It was a moment that Celtic supporters certainly won’t let their Glasgow neighbours forget in a while and after the win for the Bhoys, the jokes rolled out again.

@springb67 said: “Some teams can beat Queen’s Park others can’t @RangersFC.”

@Andydoesitbest added: “@RangersFC this is how to do it.”

@noods67 wrote: “Beating Queen’s Park isn’t for everyone.”

@LukeKC67 said: “That’s how ye beat Queen’s Park unlike some.”

When is Celtic’s next game?

There won’t be long until the Bhoys are back in action, with Celtic making the short trip to Ireland to face Cork City.

Celtic face Cork in their second pre-season game and could be given their first glimpse of Cathal O’Sullivan, who is a target for the Hoops.

Most of the club’s international players are also due to return to action next week as pre-season preparations go up a notch.
