The worst thing about all of this is that many Celtic fans saw this coming.
Before a ball was kicked, Celtic fans expressed their worry, anger and frustration towards Wilfried Nancy, and his horror reign so far, including how the unthinkable could happen against Rangers.
Therefore, nobody should be surprised by how those inside Parkhead reacted to Celtic losing 3-1 to Rangers on another miserable afternoon for Nancy.
Pat Nevin was at Celtic Park to watch everything unfold, including how the paying supporters reacted to the Hoops falling to, perhaps, their lowest low in decades.
Is Wilfried Nancy’s position untenable?

Pat Nevin on Celtic fans’ angry reaction after Rangers scored their third goal
It’s the story of Nancy’s reign. Dominate the first half. Should have scored more goals and then got slapped in the second half.
When Mikey Moore scored to make it 3-1 to Rangers in the 71st minute, and what a pathetic effort it was from Kasper Schmeichel to try and save the effort, all hell broke loose in the stands.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live (03/01/26), Nevin stated that the Celtic fans instantly turned towards Nancy and then the directors’ box, as they didn’t even acknowledge the players on the pitch.
“Now, you look at this crowd just now,” said Nevin. “They didn’t look at the players. They looked at the manager.
“Then they turned and looked up here, where all the directors are. I think they all (angry Celtic fans) are pointing towards the directors’ box. They are just looking at the director’s box, and it will be ‘sack the board’, that’s what they will be saying right now.
“There was a bad, bad feeling beforehand. When that goal went in, they all turned around to the board.”

Wilfried Nancy’s awful decision-making
You seriously have to wonder, what on earth does Nancy say or do at half-time, as well as during the second half, that makes the team, time and time again, look clueless after the first half?
If it happens once or twice, fair enough. But it doesn’t. It has been a common theme during the Frenchman’s abject reign so far.
And Nevin highlighted it by how ‘slow’ Nancy was to react to Rangers causing issues during the second 45 minutes.
“I kind of thought he (Nancy) had to make a replacement just after that second goal, and maybe after the first goal,” said Nevin.
“They were running second best by a good long distance, at that point in time. In these sorts of games, you need to make decisions quickly.
“For someone like Wilfried Nancy, this is new territory. This is a stress and a pressure, and a change of atmosphere that he would never have seen anywhere else. And probably just a little bit too slow to react to it.”
