Celtic put on a brave showing against Aston Villa in last night’s Champions League tie.
It was a pulsating evening of football which emerged from a miserable start when Morgan Rogers’ quick-fire double catapulted the Premier League side into a two-goal lead just five minutes in.
Adam Idah got the Hoops rocking with a brace of his own to haul them back into the game and take it to 2-2 but Ollie Watkins and a Rogers third put paid to the comeback notion in what was a 4-2 win for the hosts.
Celts made manager Brendan Rodgers proud as he came out at full-time to applaud his squad.
A squad, by the way, that were without the injured Cameron Carter-Vickers and the suspended Daizen Maeda.

Celtic were brave in Champions League tie vs Aston Villa
Still, they played well and could have, with some more luck, had a more fruitful night in front of goal.
Hoops hero John Hartson watched from the stands with the visiting supporters as he ditched the compo tickets and it was Neil Lennon on commentary for TNT Sports.
And the former boss spotted one “really naughty” moment from one player in green and khaki who was lucky to avoid any punishment at all during the 90 or so minutes in Birmingham.
Wide player Yang, 22, brought down Villa’s Leon Bailey in the first-half of the action and it looked a sore one for the Villa playmaker.
And Lennon was convinced it should have at the very least been a yellow card for the South Korean who was fortunate that referee Clement Turpin spotted no infringement.
Yang was lucky to avoid card in Champions League, says Neil Lennon
Speaking on his co-comms duties, Lennon was honest with his assessment of the foul which only brought about a foul for the hosts.
“I’ve got to say, he’s very lucky to avoid a yellow card there, Yang.
“Yep, that is really naughty.
“He has waited for Bailey and he has chopped him on the back of the calf.”
Lennon also had his say on Auston Trusty’s penalty foul on Watkins who skied his spot-kick high after a slip.
