A sense of reflection for Celtic after bowing out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Bayern Munich broke Celtic hearts when Alphonso Davies netted a stoppage-time equaliser to send his team through to the last 16.
The Champions League playoff phase has produced a lot of drama and some big teams heading out, including Manchester City, AC Milan and Juventus.
So, that proves the difficult waters Celtic were in and how it’s no shame in losing to a team some are backing to go deep in this competition.
But, despite all of that, you will still be kicking yourself if you are a Celtic fan, especially given how both legs panned out, especially the one at Celtic Park.
Before a ball was kicked, many probably predicted a comfortable passage for Bayern, but it was far from that and Thierry Henry was pretty blunt in his assessment about it all.

Thierry Henry highlights Harry Kane’s goal after Celtic bow out of the Champions League
The crazy thing is that, from open play, Celtic were pretty good and dealt with some serious attacking quality that was thrown their way.
But, as Thierry Henry highlighted, they ultimately lost the tie with that Harry Kane goal from a corner, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (18/02/25 at 10:00 pm).
The legendary striker explained how Brendan Rodgers’ side actually created the better chances, but still headed out.
“They (Bayern Munich) know it was difficult,” said Henry. “If you look at both of the games, I would say that the team who had the most chances was Celtic. Both of the games.
“In Europe, it’s home and away. People always stay with the live game. They lost at home, with that corner!
“Then, you are going to be here (in Munich) saying, ‘we should have taken our chances’. You can’t defend how you defended at your place. Yes, they did better, but they didn’t go through.”
Celtic’s progress in the Champions League
The fact that Celtic are disappointed and kicking themselves at not seeing off Bayern Munich tells you everything about the progression from this side.
Put aside the results, you can see it in the team’s performances, everything, from controlling matches to the defensive displays on the road, it has improved and with quality.
That’s added in with the fact, from a squad perspective, Rodgers wasn’t helped because Kyogo Furuhashi left in January, as did back-up left-back, Alex Valle.
Jota and Jeffrey Schlupp – the winter additions – aren’t even up to full speed yet and there is only one senior striker on the books.
