Mark Fotheringham and Camilo Duran chat

As soon as Camilo Duran scored, he had a chat with Celtic’s much-loved coaching member Mark Fotheringham on the sidelines.

This was picked up by the commentary team on the newly formed CelticPlayer, which included former midfielder Peter Grant.

Grant joked about whether Duran would have understood Fotheringham when they were speaking with one another on the sidelines.

But of course, Fotheringham is a man of many talents because he is bilingual.

Hydration breaks

The 2026 World Cup has seen FIFA do what they do best, and that’s not give a care in the world about the people they should represent.

After 20 minutes of each half, games have been stopped for what is dubbed ‘hydration breaks’ at the World Cup, but everyone else knows they are advertisement breaks to boost the pockets of FIFA.

Nonetheless, in the searing heat of Lisbon, and just like against Shelbourne for the pre-season opener, Celtic and their opponents had their own hydration breaks, but this time, there was meaning to it rather than it happening under a roof of an air-conditioned stadium.

Jesse Derry features

While Celtic fans moan about a lack of transfer activity, Sporting have been getting their work done, including boosting their attacking line.

Last summer, Celtic were linked with Jesse Derry from Crystal Palace, the highly-rated teenager was being sought-after by several clubs.

In the end, he secured a move to Chelsea and only recently made a loan move to Lisbon, featuring for the first time against Celtic, including making a few impressive moves.
