Three things you may have missed from Celtic’s unique angle of Motherwell win

Celtic’s latest unique angle video posted to their social media has rolled back the highlights from the important win against Motherwell, where there are some bits you may have missed.

The Hoops beat the Steelmen 3-1 before finding out that Hearts lost to Kilmarnock in the evening kick-off, meaning they are two points behind the leaders.

Hyunjun Yang was particularly impressive as he grabbed a brace, and was also at the centre of some things that you may have not seen while at the ground or watching the game.

Who was your man of the match from yesterday’s HUGE win?

Yang’s professional response

Yang was the man for Martin O’Neill and his two goals could be looked back on as the turning point in the title race.

His first goal saw the South Korea international follow in from a Motherwell defender’s attempt to clear Benjamin Nygren’s cross to arrow a ball into the bottom corner.

Instead of celebrating the equaliser, Yang instructed his teammates to get back to the centre-circle and focus on the task at hand.

O’Neill would have loved that professional attitude and it is a rare sign of leadership from a player without the armband.

Tomas Cvancara encourages the crowd to make some noise

For the second week in a row, Tomas Cvancara scored from the penalty spot.

Introduced as a half-time substitute, Cvancara showed no nerves from 12 yards and put the Hoops in the lead.

After scoring and celebrating with his teammates, the forward lifted both of his hands in the air while looking at the crowd as an act of encouragement to get behind the team.

Celtic Park’s atmosphere has been questionable this season, particularly without the Green Brigade, and the Czech striker’s call to bring the noise is a sign that the players thrive off the supporters getting behind them.

The Cvancara and Yang partnership is developing

Both goalscorers combined for the third goal and seem to have a partnership developing between the two.

Viljami Sinisalo’s long goal kick was flicked on by Cvancara into the path of Yang, who controlled the ball brilliantly to get past the Motherwell defender and lift the ball over Calum Ward with his left foot.

Has Tomas Cvancara done enough to convince you that he deserves a permanent contract?

Tell me why…

Shortly after the team celebrations, Yang went straight over to point to his provider so that they could embrace each other’s work in the goal.

It was the type of goal that looks like it came straight off the training pitch and the two could form a lethal combination for the rest of the season.
