Adam Idah shut a lot of critics up last night with his scoring show against Aston Villa.
The Irishman was excellent up front for Celtic as he banged in two brilliant goals in the Champions League to do what no other player has done at Villa Park this term.
It is about time Idah received his flowers from punters as well as pundits especially considering the pressure is on with Celts having sold Kyogo to Rennes for £10million.
Idah knows himself he needs to fill the void left by his old teammate in terms of putting the ball in the net but it is sometimes about baby steps and the first ones were taken against Young Boys last week.
Last night delighted the striker but it was all about the team as it always has been for Idah.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has always applauded Idah for his contributions as a teammate and not just in terms of his statistics.
But for the player himself it was nice to add to his tally despite an eventual 4-2 loss in Birmingham.

Idah opens up on getting back among the Celtic goals
“It’s obviously pleasing for me to get the two goals and get the team back,” he told Celtic TV in the aftermath of the action.
“It was a tough game but we dug deep and did well, but that’s the level we want to be at.
“Playing against top teams now we’re in the big stages. We learned a lot from the game and can push on now.
“It’s tough when you go two goals down, it can be really difficult and we seen that in Dortmund.
“We take from the Atalanta game when the boys knew we had to dig team. We came back and done really well.
“At this level you can get punished if you’re not on it for the full 90 minutes and that’s what happened.
“We’ll learn from that, look back on our mistakes and take the positives from the game.”
What Idah said on Celtic facing either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich
Celtic now know they’ll face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in a ruthless knockout playoff.
It’s a glamour tie for the Scottish Premiership giants but it will be difficult over two legs.
For Idah, though, these are the moments he is in football for.
And squaring off against some of Europe’s – the world’s – best would be a dream come true.
“I think we’ve been fantastic, at the start if you said we’d be here we’d take it all day,” he added on Celtic’s UCL form.

“We’ve probably done even better!
“We have to have a lot of belief and confidence in ourselves to go as far as we can, that’s what we’re trying to achieve.
“You want to play these big teams when you’re in the Champions League and it will be a great test for us against one of the best teams in the world.
“It’s a good test for ourselves and hopefully we can get a result.”
