The 2024/25 Scottish Cup final is around the corner, and it will bring back great memories for Celtic fans and Adam Idah.

During the January transfer window of 2024, Celtic secured Idah’s talents on a six-month loan deal from Norwich City.

It wouldn’t take long for the 24-year-old to make himself known, including scoring a brace at Hibernian, netting at Ibrox during a 3-3 thriller, and then that Scottish Cup final goal.

It proves that Idah is a scorer of big goals, and it wasn’t a surprise that the powers that be at Celtic Park put big money on the table to secure his services permanently in the summer.

Now, as Celtic prepare for their Scottish Cup final showdown against Aberdeen on May 24, Idah took a trip down memory lane and spoke about that incredible late winner in the final last season.

Adam Idah on what was ‘weird’ about scoring Scottish Cup final goal for Celtic against Rangers

Idah didn’t start that game against Rangers last season, with the now-departed Kyogo Furuhashi playing up top, before he was substituted for the soon-to-be match winner just after the hour mark.

It wasn’t until the 90th minute that Idah put his name into history, when he reacted quickest to Paulo Bernardo’s shot and sent the Celtic Park faithful wild at Hampden.

Idah told Celtic TV that what he found ‘weird’ about that moment is the fact that, as he celebrated, he looked back and noticed ‘none of the lads were running towards me’.

On his favourite Celtic goal: “I think it’s pretty easy, but it’s got to be the one in the cup final last season,” shared Idah. “There was no feeling like it. It’s hard to explain. It has got to be that.

On if he could take any of it in: “It was weird to be fair because I have ran, looked back, and none of the lads were running towards me, so I thought the flag was up.

“That feeling. I have never had that before. To do it, in that style, in the last minute, against them, there is no better feeling.”

Idah’s record in the Scottish Cup for Celtic

Whilst Idah didn’t start the final last season, you expect him to take that leading role against Aberdeen, especially given his recent form.

The Republic of Ireland star has been searching for those regular minutes all season long, and as the season draws to a close, he is now beginning to get them.

But Idah has a pretty decent record, during his brief set of matches, in the Scottish Cup, especially when you look at the minutes he has played.
