These last few days have been pretty remarkable at Celtic.

There can’t be many days, if any, in the rich, drama-filled and trophy-laden history of Celtic, that match or better what unfolded before everyone’s eyes on Monday evening.

Every turn of the page made your eyes open wider and wider.

Brendan Rodgers’ abrupt Celtic exit, the return of the great Martin O’Neill, and Dermot Desmond’s scathing statement have all hit the headlines and continue to be talked about.

On Wednesday morning, Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist were on air together for the first time since everything went haywire.

Alan Brazil speculates on Brendan Rodgers’ next job

Many are waiting for Rodgers’ official line to drop, but according to Brazil, he could be heading to sunnier climates for his next job.

Brazil claimed that Rodgers’ next possible job could see him head to the Middle East and the ever-growing, money-driven Saudi Pro League.

McCoist: “By the way, you aren’t there yet, but welcome to our world. You are nearly heading there.”

Brazil: “Wow. I am worried about Sunday now.”

McCoist: “Oh, Al. Anything can happen. You know, and I know it. Anything can happen.”

Brazil: “I said a few weeks ago. I know Rangers have got massive problems. There is something wrong with Celtic. You can just tell by the body language, with the players, Brendan and the fans. I didn’t know the board were fighting with Brendan. That I wasn’t aware of, but there’s something not right here. Definitely something is not right.

“From what I hear, he is heading to Saudi.”

McCoist: “Do you think so?”

Brazil: “That’s the rumour. There are so many rumours flying about, Ally. But I have been told that’s where he is going.”

Alan Brazil says he ‘hasn’t seen Dermot Desmond so angry’

When there is an official statement from Rodgers, it’s going to be interesting to see what he does, or even doesn’t, say about Desmond.

It’s pretty clear that this relationship was beyond broken, and McCoist admitted that, days later, he still can’t believe what he was reading.

Brazil: “I haven’t heard Dermot Desmond, sort of be, so angry. Reading his comments.”

McCoist: “Oh, deary me. Dear me. I mean, he savaged him, really. Let’s be honest about it, savaged him. Dermot doesn’t say an awful lot until he probably feels he has to. I couldn’t believe it. Thinking about it. It was a savage attack.”
