Hearts are making a lot of noise this season.

But in recent weeks, Celtic have started to find their feet under Martin O’Neill, as Derek McInnes’ side have dropped a few points in recent matches.

After 12 matches, Hearts have a seven-point lead over the champions of Scotland, and they are also 12 points ahead of Rangers in the Premiership table, but the duo have a game in hand.

It’s pretty clear, both Celtic and Rangers simply haven’t been at their best this season, and one man who has faced all three sides is St Mirren defender, Alex Gogic, as he shared his thoughts on the title chasers.

St Mirren star Alex Gogic picks between Celtic, Rangers and Hearts

Even though Hearts have been outstanding, and Celtic, mainly under Brendan Rodgers, played a sleepwalking style of football.

According to Gogic, the Hoops are the best team his St Mirren side has faced.

Celtic beat St Mirren 1-0 on the opening day of the season, whilst Stephen Robinson’s side recorded a point against Rangers and Hearts.

After the international break, O’Neill and his team will travel to Paisley in what will be a rehearsal for Celtic’s League Cup final against St Mirren next month at Hampden.

But this is what Gogic had to say about Celtic, Rangers and Hearts after locking horns against them this term.

Si Ferry: “I need to ask you lads again. Are you going to stick with Hearts?”

Andy Halliday: “I have got to stick with Hearts for now, aye. I can’t change after two games.”

Ferry: “Who are you going to win the league?”

Gogic: “I don’t know.”

Ferry: “Who is the best team you have played this year? Out of the three. Celtic, Rangers and Hearts.”

Gogic: “Probably Celtic. Celtic still.”

Ferry: “Do you think Celtic will claw Hearts back?”

Gogic: “I think it will be close. But Hearts, I think they will spend again in January, and they will just get better. Just to see the pressure, and if they can handle the pressure.”
