Celtic lost their second game of the season against Hibs at Easter Road.

VAR played a part in the Celtic defeat after Daizen Maeda’s equalising goal was chalked off after the ball was adjudged to have crossed the Hibs byeline before Alistair Johnston completed his cross.

Hibs fans celebrated the win with a rendition of Sunshine on Leith as David Gray celebrated his historic Celtic win.

But it was what the Celtic fans did at full-time that left BBC pundit, Pat Nevin, blown away at Easter Road.

Celtic fans are ‘a cracker of an advert’ for Scottish football

Nevin was commentating on Celtic’s defeat to Hibs when he paid tribute to the travelling Parkhead support after witnessing what they did for their heroes at the end of the game.

Nevin told BBC Sportsound, “While the Hibs fans love Sunshine and Leith, a great rendition of it, Celtic fans, I would say, ninety-five per cent, stood there at the end and applauded their team off after a defeat.

“That shows you, that’s two good games. You’re talking about an advert for Scottish football over in Bayer Munich, hey, this was a cracker of an advert for Scottish football today.”

Celtic put on an excellent second-half performance and were unlucky not to rescue a point but as it stands right now, Rodgers’ 13-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Three other occasions Celtic fans left pundits and opposition players amazed

Micah Richards sang the Celtic fan’s praises after the former Man City man was left in awe of their ‘ferocious’ support of their team in a Glasgow Derby match against Rangers at Celtic Park.

Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich praised the Celtic support in the Hoops’ 2-1 defeat in the Champions League this month.

The Bayern star admitted his team ‘lost control’ after the Parkhead crowd got really loud after Daizen Maeda’s goal gave the Bhoys some late hope against the German side.

Celtic fans left Harry Kane blown away in the same match after he said the crowd helped Celtic ‘put pressure’ on Bayern Munich as Rodgers’ side chased an equaliser.
