Ange Postecoglou seen working in Norway as Celtic hero shares ‘intangibles’ mantra

Ange Postecoglou hasn’t been heard from since leaving Nottingham Forest.

Forest were one of two English clubs to sack Postecoglou in 2025, along with Tottenham Hotspur, who dismissed him despite victory in the Europa League final.

It’s bound to have an effect on any manager, losing your job in unusual circumstances in rapid-fire succession but it isn’t stopping the ex-Celtic boss from getting to work.

Postecoglou has been linked with a Celtic return, with Martin O’Neill not currently expected to take the hotseat permanently at the end of the season.

He has been linked with other clubs, too, but the Australian has been keeping himself busy with other duties.

Do you think Big Ange will ever come back to Celtic?

Postecoglou joined UEFA last month, being appointed to their panel of technical observers which has previously included the likes of Rafa Benitez, David Moyes and Gareth Southgate.

But this isn’t his only side quest.

On Monday, a picture on social media surfaced of Postecoglou giving a masterclass lecture in Norway.

The 60-year-old is seen delivering a PowerPoint in a lecture theatre, in front of a slide that reads: “Success is defined by the intangibles.”

The picture, from Universitet Agder in Kristiansound in the south of the country, is available here via @tullefant1 on X:

Postecoglou is among the favourites for the vacant Hoops role in the summer, but he won’t be short on offers.

His spell at Forest was best forgotten by everyone involved. Being hired to move their style of play forward from the counter-attacking of Nuno Espirito Santo, he was sacked after just eight games.

Their form hasn’t gotten much better since he was replaced by Sean Dyche, in fairness… and the same goes for Thomas Frank at Tottenham.

Craig Moore on meeting ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou

Postecoglou has also been back in his home city of Melbourne, where he bumped into ex-Rangers man Craig Moore.

Moore said on the Go Radio Football Show: “I went to the Melbourne derby in Australia.

“I was in the box with Ange Postecoglou and Kevin Muscat. That was good. We enjoyed a game there. I had a good opportunity to speak with both of them.

“Ange, obviously, talking about how much he loved his time at Celtic. Potentially jumping in too soon into Nottingham Forest.

“Listen, all coaches have huge belief in themselves. They think they can turn things around. In hindsight, he said, ‘I should have taken a little bit more time.

“I didn’t ask the question [about coming back to Celtic], to be honest. Sometimes, your great memories and great achievements are better left. Coming back, it can throw up different problems.

“What I do know is he has a great fondness for the football club. He loved Glasgow. Unfortunately, for me, he was very successful.”
