Celtic have to pull out all the tricks if they are to remain in the Champions League beyond the playoff stage.
Bayern Munich hold a 2-1 lead over Celtic from the first leg as Harry Kane’s volley from a corner is proving to be the difference so far.
Whatever happens after the full-time whistle at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, it can’t be argued that Brendan Rodgers and Celtic have made improvements in Europe this term.
But knocking out Bayern here would be one of the biggest upsets in recent times and one of the biggest results in the club’s history.
Either way, some interesting news is emerging out of Bayern ahead of the return leg and it involves a few of their key players.
Kane missed training with a facial injury and you expect him to be fit for the game, as Joshua Kimmich joined him ahead of the visit of Celtic.

Joshua Kimmich drops out of Bayern Munich training alongside Harry Kane ahead of Celtic clash
Kane returning to the UK was the main talking point for the first leg and he, understandably, hogged most of the headlines.
But another key, and perhaps underrated player, for Bayern, is Kimmich and he ‘didn’t complete’ his team’s final training session, according to Bild.
It has been suggested this is due to ‘workload management’, as you expect both Kimmich and Kane to be fit and ready for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
‘Joshua Kimmich did not complete today’s final training and left the pitch after only 15 minutes – the reason was workload management’, wrote Bayern and Germany’s social media account.
Kimmich is Bayern’s dictator in midfield
Perhaps one of the most underrated players in Europe, Kimmich, who is out of contract in the summer, isn’t appreciated enough and is as dangerous as Kane.
The Germany international ran the show in the middle of the pitch at Celtic Park and he is the one the Bhoys have to be wary of.
| Shots | Assists | Key Passes | Passes | PA% | Touches | Rating |
| 2 | 1 | 2 | 83 | 96.4 | 103 | 7.48 |
A lot has been said about how Celtic should approach the game, especially given that goals are going to be needed.
But stopping Kimmich from just running amock and allowing Bayern to play further up the pitch needs to be stopped more than anything else.
