Celtic’s latest ban on the Green Brigade has been met with fury by the vast majority of the Hoops support.
The Celtic Ultras’ Parkhead ban continues indefinitely as the club say security breaches and safety concerns prompted further action.
Indeed, as the club say they want to ‘engage with the group when appropriate’ then why did Celtic not respond to Green Brigade emails to discuss safety concerns that the Ultras were raising before the ban?
As this battle rumbles on, there is another war being waged on fan culture in the Bundesliga and Borussia Dortmund fans made their feelings perfectly clear on that as Celtic’s stand-off with the Green Brigade continues.

Borussia Dortmund fans’ Bundesliga fightback as Celtic fans rage at the board
Borussia Dortmund fans staged their own fightback as it appears officials in Germany look to quash fan culture in the country.
The Bundesliga fans protested against the proposed ‘Stadionsicherheitsexperiment’ in Germany, where government ministers are looking to crush fan culture in the country.
The German establishment are claiming that they need to quell hooliganism and crowd trouble by introducing the following measures:
- AI-assisted facial recognition for identifying potential troublemakers at entry points
- Personalized tickets tied to ID checks, limiting anonymity and resale.
- Centralized data retention and sharing of fan information across stadiums and authorities.
- Expedited stadium bans (e.g., harsher penalties without full trials) and “Stadium Alliances” for coordinated security intel.
Much like the Celtic Fans Collective, supporters across Germany have united to create the ‘Fanszenen Deutschland’ as supporters protest against these measures.
And the crazy part about all of this is that the clubs in the Bundesliga are supporting their fans as they are embarking on a 12-minute silence across all games in the country this year.
Should the use of pyros be allowed?
Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Koln, and even the German Football League and German National Association are backing the country-wide protests against these measures.
This is a far cry from what Celtic supporters are experiencing right now. At least these clubs are listening to their fans.
What the Celtic Fans Collective have organised vs Hearts
The Celtic Fans Collective announced further action against the board this week as they let supporters know what is planned ahead of the Hearts fixture on Sunday.
The statement continued, “On Sunday 7th December, a Fan March has been organised from our origins at St Mary’s, Calton to our home at Celtic Park. We will assemble at 1.15pm and make our way peacefully to the stadium ahead of an important match.
“Along the route, we will pass a Green Brigade Foodbank Collection point, where supporters are encouraged to donate non-perishable food or toiletries to those in need this Christmas.
“All Celtic fans are invited to join us as we embark on a unifying and defiant celebration of everything good about Celtic Football Club.”
It seems that being ‘anti-establishment’ is not seen as a bad thing by other football clubs across Europe. Strange that is now the narrative as fan action against the Celtic board ramps up.
