Celtic narrowly lost out on the last 16 of the Champions League after drawing with Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.

Celtic put on a great performance against Bayern and were unlucky to not just force the game into extra time, but also record a famous win on German soil.

The Bhoys spurned three golden chances in the first half before Nicolas Kuhn’s goal put Celtic 1-0 up with just over half an hour left to play.

Unfortunately, though, Brendan Rodgers’ side couldn’t see out the last few seconds of the game as the Celtic manager watched Alphonso Davies poke the ball home from two yards after Kasper Schmeichel made a point-blank save with just moments to go.

The stadium erupted more with relief than joy but it was what Bayern Munich posted on social media right after scoring against Celtic that really annoyed their fans.

Bayern Munich annoys their fans with ‘atrocious’ Celtic celebration

The Bundesliga club immediately took to social media channel X right after the ball hit the back of the net and posted this message:

And it seemed to trigger their fans into anger rather than jubilation as the Bayern supporters rounded on their club.

One Bayern fan said, “Shameless team. Celebrating a draw against a team like this on our own turf.”

Translated: “Well, unfortunately, I can’t really be happy. There has to be a change here in the summer.”

Another fan was raging and said, “Sell the team. By that I mean Kim, Upamecano, Sane, Coman, Gnabry, Goretzka and Guerreiro.”

Another fan was honest and said, “I actually want to be happy, but if we have such a hard time against Celtic, we’ll be cooked from the round of 16 onwards.”

This Bayern fan didn’t hold back:

Translated, “You really can’t be happy after such an atrocious performance… then it’s just the end against Atleti or Leverkusen.”

What Harry Kane said about Bayern Munich’s draw with Celtic

Harry Kane was taken off at half-time in the Allianz as the Bayern striker struggled with injury. However, after the match, the England legend was in no doubt at how tough his team had it against Celtic.

Kane said, “I thought with the ball we were a little careless, we made too many mistakes and we were punished for that.

“Without the ball, the intensity and pressing was perhaps also not too high. It was not that that the boys didn’t try but sometimes it’s a mixture of situations.

“We have to do this quickly find out on Sunday. It was an important game against a good team that hurt us in the first leg on the counter-attack quite a lot but with the right mindset and more intensity hopefully, we play with that intensity again for the rest of the season.”
