Celtic still have time to make another couple of additions to the squad on deadline day.
Brendan Rodgers has stated that he hopes Celtic can do some business before the 11pm deadline as the Celtic manager looks to strengthen his squad today.
With the Hoops link to Kelechi Iheanacho now officially dead and Celtic’s hunt for a striker still ongoing, Rodgers has a bit of work to do in the next few hours to get played in the door at Parkhead.
However, as well as incoming, Rodgers will need to stave off interest in his own players and one Celtic first-team squad member has been told that the grass is not always greener as he ponders his future at the Bhoys.

Greg Taylor warned he could be making a mistake leaving Celtic amid Kieran Tierney return
Pat Bonner and Stephen Craigan were debating whether or not Greg Taylor would leave Celtic at the end of the season when the BBC pundits warned the fullback that he’ll probably not get a better club than Celtic as he bides his time on signing a new contract at the club
Bonner told BBC Radio Scotland, “I think he’s been a great servant to the club and I think if he could get himself a move, he wants to play games.
“He doesn’t want to be sitting playing second fiddle to Keiran Tierney, but, you know, maybe it might be a case Kieran Tierney is playing second fiddle to him.”
Craigan added, “See, just on the Greg Taylor and Kieran Tierney debate, Kieran Tierney’s not going to play 60 games next season.
“He could end up playing 30. So Greg Taylor could still end up playing 30 games. So, I mean, you hedge your bets. Are you going to get any better than Celtic? Are you going to get a better club with the chance to win trophies and play in Europe? Probably not.
“So it’s an interesting choice he has to make.”
Bonner interjected, “To be fair to Greg Taylor, he’s played week in, week out. Valle was here, obviously for a period, he came on in games, maybe started some games but he was the main guy throughout the season.
“It’s a big ask for all the competitions he can play.”
Greg Taylor’s record at Celtic
Ironically, Taylor was the man Celtic signed to replace Kieran Tierney when he left the Hoops for Arsenal in a £25m deal in 2019.
And now, over five years later, Taylor is one of the first names on the teamsheet as he continues to be an integral part of Celtic’s recent success.
- Greg Taylor has made 204 appearances for Celtic
- The Scotland fullback has won four League titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups
- Taylor has scored nine goals and created 31
- The Celtic defender’s contract expires at the end of June 2025
- Taylor has 14 caps for Scotland
