‘Jota on the Wing’ is a song that was synonymous with Celtic last season. The song, which was dreamt up by the Celtic fans to the tune of O-Zone’s Dragostea din Tei, was covered in a TikTok release by Ellie Dixon which took the Celtic support by storm and launched the musician into almost overnight fame.
It was then added to by rapper, Bemz, who published his video on TikTok, which created even more publicity and excitement surrounding the song.
Bemz has revealed that he almost never released the social media clip and opened up on meeting the players at the end of season Player of the Year Awards.

Bemz said [Celtic YouTube], “That was crazy. I can’t even lie to you because I never even knew I was going to meet the players. I was just there.
“Fiona was like, ‘I got a little something for you’ and then we just ended up going through and everybody was there.
“And I’m just like ‘Yo!’ but obviously I had to play it cool though. I was like, ‘I’m Bemz. Hey Joe Hart how are you doing bro? Hey, Cameron how are you doing? Taylor, my guy. You good yeah?’
“But inside I was like, ‘What the hell!’ do you know what I mean? So yeah that was a good experience.”
But all that wouldn’t have been possible had the rapper not released a TikTok where he had put his own spin on the Ellie Dixon rendition of Jota on the Wing.
Bemz reveals how that came about and also how being involved in that has enhanced his career. The rapper continued, “It was funny. The whole situation was hilarious because it was never meant to be anything other than a laugh.
“When I recorded the TikTok I sent it to my boys and I was like, ‘Haha how funny is this?’ and they’re like ‘Put it out’ and I was like ‘No’ because it was just literally for banter.

“Even my management and my PR they did not even know about it. And just seeing that go from TikTok to Jota hearing it, to doing the bits and pieces with Elle [Dixon] for Sky and for Celtic.
“It was a bit surreal but I’m quite glad that I listened to my friends and put it out because it would have been sat in my drafts.”
There is no doubt that the worldwide appeal of Celtic has opened up Bemz to a whole new audience and the fact he is a massive fan of the club always helps as well.
The rapper was also involved in promoting Celtic’s new third kit, which was released today, and it is fair to say that the kit looks like it may be popular amongst the Hoops support with its fresh new design.
