Celtic favourite Chris Sutton is certainly a unique figure.
One of the great things about Celtic’s dominance in recent times is how Sutton has rattled the opposition during that period – and it has been a long time.
Whether it’s on social media, BBC Radio, previously on TNT Sports, or now on Sky Sports, you can catch the former striker on many platforms.
Sutton has enjoyed Celtic’s success, and he will be in the Sky commentary box when Brendan Rodgers hopefully delivers the Treble this season.
But it was never meant to be this way for the 52-year-old, who started his career in 1991 at Norwich City, and ended it in 2007.
Bobby Petta, who enjoyed the Celtic Park dressing room with Sutton, shared an interesting insight into the striker-turned-pundit and what he once told the players he would never do.

What Chris Sutton once told Celtic players he would never do, but has now come true
Sutton is entertaining on the mic and he knows how to stir the pot, but he never had any desires or hopes to go into the studio.
When speaking on the Warm-Up, Petta explained how his former teammate once told the Celtic players ‘I am never going on TV’.
Yet, here he is being one of the most challenging pundits around, and Petta likes what he sees and hears.
“The first Chris was on TV,” said Petta. “That’s not the Chris I know.
“But then you see him and he goes like this, he is waiting for you to answer and he just looks (at the corner of his eye). Then he goes ‘so…’ and he challenges you.
“That’s the thing with the Dutch people, if you have an opinion, then you have got to back it up. Or at least explain what it is. Sometimes people find that ‘you try to challenge me too much’. No, no. It’s alright. If you have an opinion, that’s fine, but explain it.
“I think he mentioned to other players that ‘I am never going to go on TV’. But see how things change.”
Sutton’s record at Celtic
Sutton couldn’t help but play alongside Celtic’s greatest-ever striker, Henrik Larsson, or else, he would have been recognised a lot more.
That doesn’t mean that he already isn’t, because he is highly regarded and, alongside his success in Glasgow, he also famously won the title with Blackburn Rovers.
Overall, Sutton could be proud of his goalscoring record at Celtic, as well as the trophies he racked up.
