Celtic would be making a statement of intent if they sign Kasper Høgh this summer.
For those Celtic fans who might have missed it, on Wednesday evening, FK Bodø/Glimt were involved in a league game against HamKam, as talk around Høgh moving to Glasgow started to really heat up.
Despite Høgh being one of Kjetil Knutsen’s key players, including 14 goal involvements in 12 Eliteserien matches this season and starting the last four games, he was on the bench in their latest fixture.
Even then, many expected Høgh to make an appearance from the bench, but that wasn’t the case, as Bodø, who are second in the table, went on to secure a comfortable 3-0 win against HamKam.

What Kjetil Knutsen said after Kasper Høgh was an unused substitute amid Celtic links
“The match today is a step in the right direction,” Knutsen told Norwegian broadcasters.
“The group has worked hard. We have had some who have not been here because they have been involved in other fun things (the World Cup), but the group has done extremely well. The whole group is signing up; they need to be ready. We have to work a little and change our players.”
Time to get excited about Høgh, Celtic fans…
Yes, there will be many Celtic fans who won’t believe it until they see it, but finally, the club could be about to make a statement signing.
This is what Celtic fans have been crying out for ever since Kyogo Furuhashi left in January 2025.
What’s interesting about Knutsen’s call is that, not only did he drop Høgh to the bench, but he also did so just as talk around him possibly joining Celtic seriously started to generate some noise.
Remember, this is one of Bodo’s key players. It means that there is certainly something in the air.
Knutsen even referenced some of his players returning from this summer’s World Cup and needing time to settle in again.
But of course, Høgh is a Denmark international, and they didn’t qualify for the 2026 World Cup, which, ironically enough, Scotland played a part in.
