Brendan Rodgers has confirmed if Jota will be available for the remainder of the season after he was spotted on crutches at full time.

Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title for the 55th time with a 5-0 romping of Dundee United.

After Ryan Strain’s own goal, a brace each from Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah each made it a comfortable afternoon and the perfect chance for fans to pile the agony on Rangers after yet another title.

The victory means Celtic now sit two league titles behind Linfield’s 57 crowns and Rodgers is now the most successful living manager in Celtic’s history.

But, for all of the sights, the celebrations were slightly dampened by Jota’s first half injury, which required him to join in the party wearing a protective boot.

Jota a doubt for Rangers clash

Jota played a part in the first goal as his pressure on Strain lead to him turning the ball into his own net.

His afternoon was cut short though after injury forced him off in the 35th minute.

Speaking after the game, Rodgers admitted that the Portuguese winger was suffering from a problem with his meniscus and he will be monitored before the trip to Ibrox next week.

“He just felt his knee with the medical guys, we’re looking at whether his meniscus is a little bit sore. We’ll just have to assess that,” the Celtic boss said.

“Of course, they put it in the brace to protect it, but we’ll see in the next couple of days.”

Who will replace Jota?

Rodgers will have options to replace the wide-man, but would still prefer to have one of his star players available.

One option is to do exactly what he did at Tannadice and start Daizen Maeda out wide on the left, Kuhn on the right and bring Idah into the middle.

There’s also the chance to bring James Forrest in, which would likely mean a switch to the left for Kuhn.

With the title already wrapped up, it’s about adding further salt to the Rangers wounds by continuing the party in their own back yard before focus turns to the Scottish Cup final on 24 May.
