Brendan Rodgers has been tipped to make two big Celtic team selection calls for the upcoming St Johnstone fixture on Saturday.
The Celtic manager didn’t seem too happy with his team’s performance in the 4-2 win over Livingston in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
And Rodgers has now been tipped to make two changes to his Celtic side on Saturday after the struggling win over David Martindale‘s side.
BBC pundit, Rory Loy, thinks Adam Idah is set to be benched and has tipped James Forrest for Celtic’s starting XI against the Perth side.
Loy said [BBC Sportsound], “Kyogo come on and scored today, Idah wasn’t at the races so you would expect him to come back in.
“James Forrest the same.”
Kyogo to start for Celtic vs St Johnstone
I can see the point on Kyogo getting his starting spot back this Saturday. Adam Idah was fairly anonymous against Livingston on Sunday whereas the Japanese striker looked sharp, fit and determined to make an impact when he came on as a second half sub.
Kyogo has had to watch on from the side lines recently as Idah enjoyed a nice spell in front of goal but the Irishman’s performance left a lot to be desired on Sunday.
As for James Forrest, I can’t see how Rodgers drops Nicolas Kuhn in place for the Celtic legend on Saturday.
I get that when he came on in the second half, Forrest had a great spell and looked dangerous and direct.

But Kuhn also had a very good game and a lot of Celtic’s attacks came down the Germans right flank. Kuhn seems to have recaptured some of the form that persuaded Brendan Rodgers to shell out £3m for him in January.
The Celtic boss talked up his January signing prior to kick-off on Sunday and it seemed to have worked as Kuhn put in his best performance of the season so far.
So whilst I appreciate Kyogo’s shout for a St Johnstone start, Kuhn keeps his place in the Celtic team for now.
