Celtic have a number of players who have produced the goods at the very top level in Europe.
In the Champions League, Celtic qualified from the group stages after superb wins against RB Leipzig, Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava at Celtic Park.
Creditable draws against Atalanta and Dinamo Zagreb away from home helped Brendan Rodgers create a little bit of European history as Celtic improved their reputation amongst Europe’s elite.
The whole sqaud put in an incredible effort this season however, Simon Donnelly reckons that one player Rodgers has at his disposal could grace any of Europe’s top five leagues after being linked with a ‘big bucks’ move to the English Premier League.

Simon Donnelly says Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn is ‘brilliant’
Nicolas Kuhn was red hot at the beginning of the season and it led to the Celtic winger being linked to Newcastle United.
However, despite his dramatic drop in form and being left out of the Celtic starting lineup that beat Kilmarnock, Donnelly still believes Kuhn is so good he can play in any league in Europe.
Donnelly told The Sunday Post [print edition page 63], “Over the season, they have had some really consistent performers and we all know about Callum Mcgregor, Daizen Maeda and Kasper Schmiechel. They’ve all been superb.
“Nicolas Kuhn was on fire for the first six months of the season but his consistency levels have dropped a wee bit in the past few weeks.
“There was talk of English Premier League clubs willing to pay big bucks for him in the January window. I’ve no idea if that was the case or not.
“But what I do know is that he is a top quality player who has it in his locker to play in the top leagues in Europe.
“Before any of that, however, I want to see him turning it on for Celtic and finishing the season really strongly.
“In terms of goals and assists, his numbers are brilliant. I’m sure the manager will be challenging him to add to that.”
Nicolas Kuhn’s stunning Celtic season
Despite his drop off in form, Nicolas Kuhn has enjoyed an incredible first full season at Celtic. Making a huge impression in the Champions League, the German winger certainly let his quality show with some impressive goals.
Here are Kuhn’s Celtic stats so far this season, that has had clubs from England sniffing around the impressive winger:
| Nicolas Kuhn | Played | Goals | Assists | Average rating |
| Celtic | 45 | 18 | 14 | 7.54 |
Whilst Kuhn is suffering from a drop in form, there is absolutely no doubt that Rodgers has a quality player on his hands and the Celtic boss just needs to help the winger rediscover the performances that made him an almost instant fan favourite.
