The appointment of Brendan Rodgers has certainly lit the blue touch paper on what would have been a dull and boring close season.
Now that Celtic have their new man in place, we can look forward to a summer of transfer additions and seeing how the team will play football under the Irishman.
And the Celtic fans should be excited. That’s the view of Celtic captain, Callum McGregor as he sent a message to the fans after the appointment of Rodgers this week.

McGregor said [Celtic TV], “I think everybody should be hugely excited. A new season brings new challenges. There will always be something new for the players and the group and the supporters to handle that challenge.
“So it’s important that we embrace that together. We always speak about how important the supporters are and the journey with the team and the club.
“We have a really exciting season. It’s now about being together. We look forward to the challenges ahead. Domestic honours to try and retain and hopefully a really exciting Champions League campaign as well.
“So, you know, really exciting times. We’ve appointed the manager, the players are obviously on holiday at the minute but come a few weeks time everybody will be ready to come back to work and the message is now we move forward together.”
Like I said earlier, it’s clear from McGregor’s comments that he is clear to ensure any division the Rodgers appointment has caused in the Celtic fanbase is quelled quickly.
The defence of the Treble and the assault on the Champions League will require the whole club to pull together in the same direction. But when the time comes, I am sure that is what will happen.

And as the players go on their holidays after the international break, the Celtic fans will watch intently to see how Rodgers intends to spend that reported £30m transfer kitty.
By all accounts, a new signing is not too far away. The club are on the brink of signing the highly-rated Odin Thaigo Holm today.
And I am sure he will be the first of many as the Celtic manager looks to put his own stamp on this Celtic team.
