Carl Starfelt says Tottenham star asked about ex-Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou

This week’s international break seems to have loosened the Celtic player’s lips on Ange Postecoglou’s exit to Tottenham Hotspur.

Not many of Ange’s former players spoke publicly or on social media when the move happened with only Jota putting out an emotional goodbye on Instagram.

Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Hyeongyu Oh have all had their say on Postecoglou and they had nothing but praise for their former gaffer.

And the big Celtic defender was no different as he revealed that one of his international teammates was asking him what to expect from Ange when he returns to the club.

Starfelt said [Expressen], “He came in when Celtic were in a tough period and came in and rebuilt everything and has had two good seasons. An incredible coach.

“Dejan [Kulusevski] asked a bit about him actually. But I have only positive things to say about him as I said.” [translated by Deep L]

It seems that even though there is a relative social media blackout from the majority of the Celtic players after Ange departed, the message is clear.

They all have a huge amount of respect and admiration for a man that brought them to a huge club and gave them the opportunity to win silverware and play in the Champions League.

Now we move on. Now we look forward to a new era. One that is most likely going to be led by Brendan Rodgers. And if Rodgers can get the same, if not better, levels of performance out of the current squad, we are in for an incredible season next season as we look to defend our treble and make a dent in the Champions League.
