Celtic’s latest defeat to Motherwell seems to be the final straw for Wilfried Nancy in the eyes of the Hoops support.
The Celtic manager appeared to have turned a corner after wins against Livingston and Aberdeen showed signs that there is a football team tucked into this rabble of players.
However, those wins appear to be a false dawn after a Jekyll and Hyde performance at Fir Park saw Motherwell schooled Celtic in the art of football as the Bhoys looked clueless.
Where does Wilfried Nancy go from here?
And now, it seems that Nancy and this Celtic board are living on borrowed time after fans sent them a clear message after their humbling in Motherwell.

Celtic fans want Wilfried Nancy to leave the club
Celtic supporters were simply furious with the result and after five defeats in his first seven games as the Hoops boss, the message to the Parkhead board was clear.
That is the theme of the night as @mcgceltic was clear about Nancy’s future, “Get him gone asap.” And @pedrovasgarcia was just as fuming and sent a Rangers warning and said, “Sack the manager tonight. At least give us some hope for Saturday. If you don’t we’ll suffer an embarrassing home defeat.”
@CeltiCRab19671, has a simple message to the Parkhead suits, “Board Must Resign Tonight.” This Celtic supporter, @RabCorbett2, makes no bones about what he thinks and said, “Here’s the thing a lot of happy clappers won’t accept. Since Rangers died, if we had actually been a properly run club, we’d have been out of sight for 25 years.
“Instead blew 10 in a row and are now presiding over this shambles. This season here is a write off. Board out.”
@PatOLeary1 was crystal clear and said, “Get Nancy gone now Celtic. We’re an absolute shambles and it’s all down to his “system.”
“It will never work. Time to cut our losses and appoint a decent coach asap.”
The alarming stats from Celtic’s Motherwell humbling
There is a great saying ‘there are lies, damned lies and statistics’ and when it comes to last night’s Celtic performance, the stats from the BBC website certainly don’t lie.
- Possession: 56%
- Shots: 8
- Shots on target: 3
- Attempts outside of box: 2
- Touches inside Motherwell’s box: 18
- Fouls committed: 14
- Clearances: 19
Eight shots on the Motherwell goal is an alarming decline from the 31 recorded in Celtic’s win against Aberdeen.
Clueless in defence and toothless in attack, this experiment Celtic have started under Nancy has failed and it’s time to end it.
