Martin O’Neill is set to take charge of Celtic’s Premiership clash against St Mirren on Saturday evening.
That Celtic hero will continue in his interim role, alongside Shaun Maloney, despite the November international break providing the club with an ample chance to bring somebody in.
Wilfried Nancy continues to be a hot topic, going by the media in Scotland, a deal is within reach, and it’s a matter of time before he comes in to replace Brendan Rodgers.
But that’s not what is being reported Stateside, because according to the Columbus Crew themselves, Celtic haven’t even approached them for Nancy.
Poll: Do you want Wilfried Nancy to become the new Celtic manager?

Celtic fans on Wilfried Nancy news
Given the news that Celtic haven’t even approached the MLS side for Nancy, many of them are delighted with that.
That’s because many of them prefer the likes of Kjetil Knutsen to take charge rather than the unknown figure of Nancy.
Others even made the point that they would prefer Celtic to keep O’Neill on board until, at least, the turn of the year, because at least they have someone in the dugout they can trust.
Either way, this is how the Celtic Park faithful reacted on social media to the Nancy news.
@AndrewJMullen wants it to be true: ‘Thank God! Hope that’s true.’
@hotbaws1 wants O’Neill until January: ‘Personally, at this point now I think it would be best for MON to run with it until January. The next 6 weeks’ fixtures are mental, and with our injuries. A new manager could be on the back foot right away.’
@coachkennyruns thinks the Nancy news highlights how Celtic are being run: ‘Not surprised at all – guessing the board think they can wait and it will be cheaper somehow. We are so far from being a modern, dynamic football club.’
@MiniKeek is still hopeful of Knutsen coming in: ‘Hopefully this means it’s Knutsen and he’ll come in December when he leaves Bodo.’
Another delighted Celtic fan, as @The_Blankfaces added: ‘Great news.’
And that theme continued, as @_ryantrav added: ‘Finally some good news.’
@JimTheTim_1888 know how it will all end: ‘The board throwing crumbs to journalists to run with stories when in reality it’s gonna be Shaun Maloney at the helm, just a matter of timing!’
Another shout for Knutsen, this time by @sebleonard93: ‘I am praying this means we are all in for Knutsen, but genuinely won’t be surprised if we haven’t approached him, let alone got a successor plan in place.’
Another O’Neill and Maloney shout, as @Neillennoncsc added: ‘Smashing let Martin and Shaun get on with now.’
@bhoy_inOz is just going to watch Scotland highlights again: ‘At this point, nothing surprises me with this club. I’m just going to go watch the highlights of the Scotland game again so I don’t have to engage with Celtic nonsense.’
