Celtic ruin Hugh Keevins’ weekend after pundit’s bizarre Rangers and Aberdeen comments

It’s been a great weekend for Celtic fans, but not so much for Hugh Keevins.

Keevins has been the prophet of doom for Celtic after the pundit’s latest bizarre predictions fell flat on their face.

Celtic beat Aberdeen with a comfortable win up at Pittodrie to tick off a fixture from the calendar that can prove, at times, to be tricky.

With Celtic four points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with just two games played, the start of the new season couldn’t have gone much better for the Hoops support.

But for Keevins, the season couldn’t have gone much worse as far as his Celtic predictions go.

Celtic throw Hugh Keevins’ Aberdeen and Rangers predictions back in his face

Firstly, Celtic put egg on Keevins’ face after he claimed ‘Rangers are everything Celtic are not’ as he predicted that if both clubs met at the weekend, the Ibrox club would win the fixture.

Well, after Rangers drew with Dundee, that didn’t work out too well for the journalist/radio pundit.

And in predicting ‘chaos’ if Celtic didn’t beat Aberdeen, Keevins also claimed that the Parkhead club lacked the ‘attacking intent’ of Hearts.

Whilst Hearts are joint-top of the league with Celtic, it is worth noting that last season five of Celtic’s players outscored the Tynecastle club’s main striker and captain Lawrence Shankland.

Celtic’s attacking stats vs Aberdeen debunk Keevins’ Hoops theory

The ‘attacking intent’ comment is particularly irksome considering Celtic are the most proficient forward-thinking team in the league, and have been for a number of years.

But against Aberdeen, the Parkhead club made their intentions clear as they laid siege to the bottom club in their own backyard.

The BBC Celtic stats are as follows:

Keevins probably wishes he’d kept his predictions to himself now, right?
