Brendan Rodgers is entering the January transfer window in a position of strength.
The Celtic manager has cash in the bank to spend with an already deep squad of players leading the way in the Scottish Premiership title “race”.
In the Champions League, too, there has been progress and a win over Young Boys and/or Aston Villa would secure a knockout playoff spot in the revamped competition.
Rodgers made it clear he wants attacking options to add to his playing staff with a left winger and potentially a new striker coming in to make up the manager’s preferred three-pronged attack alternatives.

Celts may not necessarily spend major money in what is a notoriously tough window.
But that won’t stop supporters dreaming of their ideal scenarios where signings and sales are concerned.
So 67 Hail Hail allowed ourselves to ponder the best window possible…
Kieran Tierney Celtic return
The defender left for Arsenal in 2019 for a staggering £25million and he could incredibly make a comeback for diddly squat.
What a bit of business this would be.
A pre-contract is an option for both parties with the Gunners refusing to renew.
And despite his niggling injury issues, a fit, 27-year-old Tierney in his prime would be the perfect squad addition to rival Greg Taylor who has transfer interest this summer.
Jota ditches Rennes for Parkhead

The Superstar from Portugal has struggled since his own £25m move to Al-Ittihad and he departed Saudi for Ligue 1 where he has only managed nine appearances and the one goal.
And with Celts in the market for a wide player, a cut-price deal for the club legend would make sense.
Wages, like with KT, might be a factor but if it could realistically happen, we’re sure fans would be delighted to have the 25-year-old back.
January transfer window closes without Cameron Carter-Vickers exit
The big defender is a colossus at the back and is the consistent base of what is a strong backline.
Bayer Leverkusen are keen on Carter-Vickers but it would cost the Bundesliga giants big.
Still, they have spent on a Hoops player before in Jeremie Frimpong and it’s not like they are short on finances.
Michael Nicholson‘s resolve could be tested for the man Michael Stewart dubbed Celtic’s next £25m player and while it wouldn’t be an incoming, it would be the ideal scenario to keep him.
Mathias Kvistgaarden joins Celtic
The Danish striker has been enjoying his football with Brondby and he is on the cusp of a long-term international chance.
He has 14 goals and five assists from 22 outings and that has brought about numerous interested parties.
We told you Kvistgaarden’s price had gone up as Celtic have sent scouts to watch the player as recently as December.
And if he arrived to challenge Kyogo – who will be 30 this month – and Adam Idah, it would be the perfect challenge for both.
