One of Celtic’s players out on loan has suffered a blow after being ruled out through injury.

A number of Celtic stars went out on loan for a variety of reasons that range from getting minutes ahead of competing for a first-team spot next season, or have left with a view to exiting permanently.

Some have impressed already with Scott Brown praising Jude Bonnar and Kyle Ure for their efforts at Ayr United.

However, not everyone is having things go their own way and for one Bhoy out on loan, he has been dealt some bad news.

Livingston confirm Adam Montgomery injury

Livingston have confirmed that full-back Adam Montgomery will be out of action for at least 10 weeks.

Montgomery, 23, joined the newly-promoted Scottish Premiership side on loan for the season, and has been a regular.

He also scored against Kelty Hearts in the Premier Sports Cup after making nine appearances in all competitions, but will be sidelined for a period of time because of a calf injury.

Celtic must cut losses on Adam Montgomery

Now 23, it is clear that Montgomery will never be more than a bit-part player at Parkhead.

He isn’t one of the Celtic players out of contract in 2026 but is still likely to depart at the end of the season, given that his future seems set in stone.

Even while out on loan, the left-back has never really set the world alight and will be one of the many looking for a permanent exit ahead of a transfer window that is already being anticipated as one of the biggest in recent Celtic history.
