Celtic told what Greg Taylor doesn’t want to do ahead of Kieran Tierney’s return from Arsenal

Celtic fans will be hoping the next campaign isn’t Brendan Rodgers’ final one at the club.

The simple reason being is that there is so much to look forward to, from the Champions League to the return of Kieran Tierney.

Yes, it’s a pain that Celtic have to qualify for the 2025/26 Champions League, but following the revamp of the format by UEFA, there has been improvement from Rodgers’ side.

There is a chance that Tierney returns to Celtic as a Champions League winner, that’s if Arsenal can overcome PSG in the semi-final, and then beat either Barcelona or Inter in Munich for the showpiece event.

The Gunners are 1-0 behind ahead of their second leg clash next Wednesday night in Paris, with Celtic’s boyhood fan playing a squad role for Mikel Arteta, including not coming off the bench for the first leg.

But will the same happen when he returns to Celtic Park next summer?

Kieran Tierney and Greg Taylor’s possible roles for Celtic next season

Greg Taylor is out of contract in the summer, and as of this moment, it seems as though he will be heading for the exit door.

But, according to Andy Walker, the reason why Taylor wants out is because, ‘he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to Tierney’, as he told Go Radio.

Either way, Walker has backed Taylor to earn more money elsewhere and stated that he has been a ‘really good player’ for the champions.

“Greg Taylor, I think he will go,” said Walker. “I don’t think he wants to play second fiddle to Kieran Tierney.

“Kieran Tierney will be welcomed by pretty much every Celtic supporter. Having said that, a big fan of Greg Taylor, I think he has been terrific value. A terrific signing. And a really good player.

“If he wants to try somewhere else, maybe earn a few more bob, then I would say good luck to him.”

Taylor to end his Celtic career with a Treble?

An underrated figure, and a player talked about too much for the wrong reasons.

When Jeffrey Schlupp became Celtic’s starting left-back, after he joined until the end of the season from Crystal Palace, Taylor has since won his place back.

There is every chance Taylor ends his Celtic career with a Treble, as he is also hitting his best form of the campaign before he leaves.
