There was drama galore on the final night of the league phase in the Champions League on Wednesday.
It’s a case of what could have been for Celtic, who could only watch on after missing out on qualification for Europe’s elite competition in August.
One of the stories of the night was Bodo Glimt beating Atletico Madrid in Spain, and securing a brilliant and much-deserved play-off spot.
Celtic fans have seen, heard and read many strikers linked to the club during the January transfer window, and one of them includes the hero on the night for Bodo – Kasper Hogh.
Where do Celtic still need to strengthen after signing Tomas Cvancara and Julian Araujo?

Celtic transfer target Kasper Hogh writes his name in lights in the Champions League
You sense that if Hogh is going to leave during the January transfer window, then he has probably just added an extra few million to his name.
It was a typical poacher’s goal from Hogh; the ball was pin-balling inside the penalty area as the Norwegian side were pushing and pushing for those much-needed three points.
And the man wanted by Celtic did the business when it mattered most, and he will now be preparing for the Champions League play-offs, unless he makes a move before next Monday’s transfer deadline.
Bodo Glimt’s qualification could ‘affect’ possible Hogh transfer
The Norwegian league has concluded, so Bodo, who missed out on the title this season, are now just preparing and playing in Europe.
A lot rides on these two play-off matches. Yes, Bodo are aware they won’t win the tournament, but just getting to the knockout stages and the next round will be huge from a financial perspective.
Well, to nobody’s surprise, Anthony Joseph has stated on social media that Hogh’s goal in Madrid might now have put a dent in a possible transfer.
‘Norwich City & Celtic target Kasper Høgh has just scored for Bodo/Glimt to put them ahead at Atletico Madrid,’ wrote Joseph.
‘He was due to assess his future later this week, after tonight’s match. As things stand, Bodo are in a #UCL knockout stage place – which could affect a possible move.’
